Meet Canada’s Newly Minted Lotto Millionaires Ready for La Dolce Vita

Sivananthan Paramanantharaja is among Canada’s latest lottery millionaires that has Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to thank for his fortune. He became eligible for the CA$1,000,000 cash prize mid-August but took his time to bag the Encore prize. The 63-year-old lottery enthusiast hailing from Brampton is more than ready for everything life has in store for him.

Canadians are often eagerly anticipating the upcoming regular lottery draw, as it offers them the chance to see who the lucky winner is. For the Brampton lottery fan, one of the regular draws was the one supposed to change his life. August 13 was his special day bringing him the good news that he is a lotto millionaire now. Matching all numbers drawn during the Encore draw secured him the grand cash payout.

Lottery Jackpots Meet their Winners

Upon realizing he is the winner, Mr. Sivananthan was quick to contact his wife and tell her the good news. The two of them were in complete disbelief, as it often happens with lottery winners. The very thought of winning an amount this big is baffling and rather hard to grasp at first. The winner took his time before he bagged the lottery jackpot.

The Shell gas station located on Bramalea Road in Brampton is the fortunate location benefitting from a one-percent allocation from the overall jackpot payout. Another winner from Saskatchewan was the reason why the province attracted a jackpot reaching CA$2 million. Harvey Plum of Battleford was the individual who became eligible for the Western 6/49 cash prize.

His lucky day was October 19, when his ticket made him much richer. Mr. Plum checked it through his phone only to find out he is the winner. At first, he could not believe his eyes, but he pointed out that he was not screaming with joy, as many lottery winners have reacted in the past. His plans right now include paying some bills and spending time creating memories while traveling.

Someone Missed the Deadline

Quebec was another province to congratulate major lotto winners as of recently. Gilles Dauplaise and Nicole Dauplaise made their way among the regional millionaires with a Lotto 6/49 ticket purchase that ended up paying off immensely. The September 18 draw had a better life in store for them, guaranteeing them CA$1,000,000. All they had to do is claim their prize within the following 52 weeks, but their ticket remained forgotten in their car until recently.

Mrs. Dauplaise was the one checking the lottery ticket and telling her husband the good news several weeks later. What the two of them are about to do now is purchase a recreational vehicle able to transport them around the country. In the meantime, the Sorel Store in Sorel-Tracy is about to receive one percent of the jackpot for selling the winning ticket.

The two of them claimed the jackpot in a timely manner, but someone in the Northwest Territories failed to do so. Western Canada Lottery Corporation revealed that the purchaser of a Maxmillions ticket with expiry date October 26 was unable to claim its prize before the end of the 52-week period. Now the CA$1,000,000 would be added to the overall prize pot.
